Gain Time by Learning to Learn

In an extremely effective and productive week I have not only completed a load of tasks that keep my personal and professional life in check but I’ve also learned something new. It is exponentially rewarding to your career to simply learn, so I think it is beyond important to make sure that somehow there is some time set aside in the week for reading some form of literature that creates intellectual stimulation that somehow in the near future takes the form of career advancement. Now, I am not advocating spending unnecessary funds on magazine subscriptions or books. You could make time for a weekly library visit or do some research to find a company or individual in your field of expertise that sends out regular newsletters. So many successful professionals have caught on to the blog whirlwind that you just need to find one that suits your needs and visit often or get the RSS feed so that you never miss a new post. There are also a ton of hosts of forums that might serve your personal learning needs and allow for some interesting and creative dialogue with like-minded individuals.

If you are a successful businessperson you probably have no choice but to have your schedule in great shape. Remembering that learning to learn is just as important to your career as fuel is to your vehicle will keep you on that successful track. If you find yourself successful but not feeling the rewards of that success maybe its not enough to be where you are and you need to adjust your schedule to include some truly inspiring reading or discussion. Learning to learn should cure that stagnant feeling you have and create a new spark in you and your career.
